Alchemist Teacher Facilitator Guide

Wendy Young

Facilitating Inner and Outer Transformation

I was born and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. My schoolgirl dream was to travel the world. Shortly after my 22nd birthday and a job promotion, I left the safety of the family home to follow my heart’s yearning of experiencing other lands and cultures.

After 8 years of travelling and exploring, which was an aspect of running away from those painful parts of myself, I ‘settled down’ in London. I started searching for meaning and belonging in socialising, a relationship and my career.  And still I felt that something was missing.

In 1999 I began weekly yoga classes which felt like a healing balm amidst the craziness of city living. Feeling inspired to deepen my yogic practice and knowledge, I completed a two-year Satyananda Yoga teacher training course at Mandala Yoga Ashram in Wales. I then went on to complete a couple of year-long meditation courses based on Yogic and Buddhist philosophy. I also studied Tantra and Ayurveda in London and India.

This period was deeply challenging as I started to meet and get in touch with the many layers of prenatal trauma and my limiting belief systems as well as navigating serious health issues, heartbreak and loss.  This was also profoundly life-changing: it became the foundation of my life-long commitment to healing and self discovery as well as a spiritual quest for truth, wholeness, freedom and love. I also realised that my calling was to share these universal wisdom teachings with others.

The Healing Arts

I started as a massage therapist over 20 years ago, and expanded my offerings to include yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, nutritional therapy, transpersonal counselling, personal coaching, metaphysical medicine, somatic intelligence and Reiki.

I feel called to be of service by offering people a safe space to heal and harmonise their lives.  A sacred space where they can access their vulnerability and their deepest essence.

Working intuitively to facilitate life-changing and sustainable transformation, I meet people where they are in themselves, and support them in bringing clarity and wisdom to life’s challenges.

We tend to seek help in times of difficulty. I open people’s minds to the idea that underneath the pain and contraction is the energy and excitement of transformation.  Life’s challenges are a calling for us to experience ourselves with more depth, authenticity and compassion.

The magic of transformation and individual empowerment is the natural outcome of awareness.  By teaching people self awareness, I help them explore their unbounded potential.

Growing Global Community

I donate a percentage of all Wise Living income to Food Circles 108 – a non profit company in Food Security which focusses on Food Sovereignty and Agroecology principals.  They are based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

I feel inspired by and dedicated to growing a global conscious community.  My heartfelt wish is to co-create a wise living world for all.

“I'm passionate about holistic wellbeing, conscious and embodied living and
supporting people on their quest of self discovery, returning to wholeness
and waking up to their essential nature.”

“It is precisely because we resist the darkness in ourselves that we miss the depths of the loveliness, beauty, brilliance, creativity and joy that lie at our core.”

What people say about working with me...

"I was touched this morning. Your newsletter arrived and I could feel a potency emanating from it. I found myself simply falling into peace, gratitude and realised what was happening - bliss is, after all, an extraordinary feeling. It seems to be a combination of the vital fire of life, mixed with the absolute peace.

It has a supernatural quality a sumptuous calming joy, penetrating, melting away what stands between you and the knowledge of unconditional love... my heart feels like a flower endlessly unfolding into the warmth of it. I feel this unmistakably in your presence. Thank you for walking the path for all of us."
